Backstage Photo Confessions
A Multi Media Exhibit

I confess. I love being Backstage.

Growing up in New York City with my family’s nightclub,
The Bottom Line, as my personal playground, I spent much of my time catching sound checks, struggling to stay awake at late shows, helping to sell tickets at the box office, and mingling with Rock n’ Roll royalty.

As a teenager, you could find me at MTV Balls, benefit concerts, and stadium extravaganzas where I enjoyed more memorable Backstage moments.

As an adult, and on-air TV, print, and radio reporter, I’ve been lucky enough to get Backstage at venues across the nation.

And… I always brought a camera with me.

Backstage Photo Confessions is a multi media exhibit showcasing 32 of my photos that allow the average concert fan to glide past security and go beyond the velvet rope.

You’ll feel like you just jumped into a plush front row seat, hopped on-stage, or stole a rare Backstage glimpse of some of my favorite musicians in action.

Each photo, or collection of photos, will be presented like a Gold Album – encased in red suede matting and a gold frame under glass, with a gold ID plaque, and, as a bonus, color copies of the actual tickets and Backstage passes I used when I took each picture. During the December 3rd exhibit premiere at TwiRoPa, another collection of photos will be projected onto a wall, by DVD, featuring some of the best shots I have of me posing next to famous musicians and notables in the industry.
Interspersed with those personal snaps will be additional pictures from my Rock n’ Roll memorabilia collection.

I’ll also invite you into The Bottom Line, on a typical day in New York City in 1974, when I was helping out my Dad in the office. Even though I was only 3-years-old, this looped VHS recording will show I made quite an impression on a young Geraldo Rivera and one of the best folk singers at that time, Carolyn Hester. We jammed to the ABC’s on stage. Dressed in some pretty groovy ‘70s duds, I warn you, the cute factor ranks high up there.

Don’t miss the Invitation Only Preview Party for Backstage Photo Confessions at TwiRoPa, on Friday, December 3, from 7 – 9 pm! Everyone invited will be asked to dress in their best Rock Star threads, bring their VIP tickets and pick up their own All Access Backstage Pass. While viewing the multi media exhibit, guests will enjoy a DJ spinning the tunes of my photo subjects, and be treated to Rock n’ Roll Martinis, Hors D’Oeuvres, Cake Café petit fours, and a live performance at 9 pm by Will Hoge and his band when they’ll storm the stage and open the exhibit to the public.

In Backstage Photo Confessions, every photo and image is a confession. It reveals those I admire, the energy I’m attracted to, the moods I’m in, and a time line of where I’ve been on tour.

I really don’t think of myself as an artist, but I do think I’m lucky and so fortunate to have spent so much of my life Backstage.

Backstage is where I get the chance to steal a little piece of every great show I go to, capturing it in my photographs and in my memories.

Hope to see you at the party!
